Jules Anastas Denitto
Berlin American High School, Class of 1963
Jules Anastas Denitto, age 77, of Eldersburg, passed away peacefully at home under the care of his wife after a year-long battle with leukemia.
He grew up as a U.S. Air Force dependant, spending much of his childhood overseas, including three years in France and several years in Germany. He graduated from Berlin American High School in 1963. He later served four years in the United States Air Force as a Military Police Officer before beginning a distinguished 32-year career with the Baltimore City Police Department, retiring in 1999. Following retirement, he devoted time to his interests in military history, antiques, and collectibles, and also worked part-time as a bailiff for the Carroll County court system for 11 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dottie, of 50 years; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Jaime and Chris Pickett of Westminster; his five-year-old granddaughter, the apple of his eye; his brother, Gary, of the United Kingdom; and his nieces, Tammy and Jennifer, also of the United Kingdom.
A celebration of his life will be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baltimore City Police Signal 13 Foundation, which supports officers and their families in times of need.
He had been a member of Overseas Brats since 1986.
