Dottie Ennis Abernathy passed away on May 10, 2005, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 68. Born in Brookings, South Dakota, she spent her youth on various U.S. Army bases as a military brat and later became a dedicated speech therapist.
Dottie attended Yokohama American High School (now Nile C. Kinnick High School) in Japan, graduating with the Class of 1954. Affectionately known as "Yokohama Mama," she was a founding leader of the Yokohama High School Former Students Association and is fondly remembered by fellow Brats for her lifelong dedication to her classmates.
A foundational member of the Overseas Brats community since 1993, Dottie remained a proud and active part of our network until her passing.
