Don "Rick" Bloyer

Donald Richard “Rick” Bloyer, Jr. passed away peacefully on April 13, 2018, at the age of 71. Born in Jamestown, North Dakota, Rick was a man of immense curiosity and talent—a world traveler, artist, and computer scientist. He served his country as a Captain in the United States Army and remained a lifelong advocate for veterans’ rights. He is survived by his wife, Janeen, three children, and nine grandchildren.

Rick attended Orleans American High School in France and later the University of Maryland, Munich Campus. He is fondly remembered by fellow Brats for his creative spirit and his passion for learning. Whether building models or painting landscapes, he carried the adventurous spirit of his overseas youth into everything he did.

A dedicated member of the Overseas Brats community since 1987, Rick remained a proud part of our network for over 30 years.
